At Urbanavitcha, my work often sits at the intersection of design refinement, digital modelling and hands-on making. A recent collaboration with luxury London belt brand Huxley Tanner brought all of these skills into play - producing both floor-standing and countertop display stands for retail point of sale (POS) locations that balance elegance with robust manufacturability.

Floor-standing belt display

This journey began with an early prototype provided by the client. Using this as a foundation, we refined the design - stripping back unnecessary hardware, improving manufacturability, and ensuring the stand would be serviceable over time.

After brand and budget discussions to understand the aesthetic direction, we developed a 3D CAD model and rendered visuals for feedback. This led to a physical sample for real-world evaluation, followed by a batch of 12 stands. A year later, after proving their worth in store environments, a further 10 were ordered and personally delivered to the client in Fulham.

The production process combined multiple disciplines:

  • Design refinement for aesthetics and production efficiencies.

  • Bespoke manufacturing in MDF and timber, with CNC routing, hand routing, precision cutting, joinery, and sprayed finishes.

  • Hardware integration including threaded inserts, clamps, and concealed fixings.

  • Concrete casting for base ballast weights.

  • Laser-cut acrylic logos.

  • Individual packaging for distribution direct to stores.

The result was a practical yet premium display that reflects Huxley Tanner’s brand identity while standing up to the realities of retail use.

Countertop belt display

Between batches of floor stands, the client approached us again - this time for a smaller countertop unit. Starting from another mock-up, we created digital models and renderings to explore refinements.

The new design was significantly streamlined over the original, deliberately minimising visible hardware to create an elegant stage that allowed the products to remain the focus.

Key features included:

  • segmented aluminium tube, polished in-house on a lathe for a refined finish.

  • concealed central threaded rod, drawing all components together with no visible clutter.

  • Custom push-fit plugs, CNC cut from MDF to keep each tube section centralised.

This approach delivered a refined, functional and brand-appropriate solution, with 50 units produced for retail rollout.

Projects like these highlight the multiskilled nature of Urbanavitcha - from intuitive brand conversations through digital design, to material problem-solving and in-house manufacturing techniques. The result: practical, beautiful objects that balance form and function, supporting brands like Huxley Tanner in telling their story at point of sale.
